An idea for Blue Ridge Mountain Outfitters / Tanasi Outdoors

Hey, I’mDylan.

Videographer, photographer,
and someone who loves being outside.

Photography and filmmaking have been a passion of mine since 2021. I love nature and turning the places, people, and experiences I care about into films and photographs.

I’ve pursued photography and filmmaking both personally and professionally. I work as a Multimedia Specialist at Wind River Built, where my work includes planning, shooting, editing, color grading, and sound design.

The experience I bring

From an idea
to a finished film.

I’m excited to hear your ideas, learn what you’d like people to know about your shop, and talk about how I can bring that vision to life through film and photography.

I’m also building my independent portfolio, and I’d love for this to become work we’re both proud to share. With your permission, I’d feature the finished pieces in my portfolio as an example of the work I created for your shop.

Selected personal work

A little of what
I love to create.

Selected clips from personal projects I’ve made over the years, alongside a few of my outdoor photographs. These capture the people, places, and experiences that keep me excited about filmmaking and photography.

I love capturing authentic, raw moments—the small interactions and unexpected details that make an experience feel personal. I use several different cameras to bring out different textures and feelings, choosing the approach that fits the moment and the story.

What stayed with me

The help behind
the gear.

When I visited your outfitter store, what stayed with me was your willingness to share advice and talk through ideas. That helpfulness, along with the welcoming atmosphere of the shop, made me want to come back. Every question I had was met with a genuine, thoughtful response from you and your team.

That personal experience is something I’d love to capture alongside the quality products you carry—giving people a feel for the shop and the people behind it before they walk through the door.

A couple of ideas / Your shop & your story

A few ideas
to start with.

Here are a few ideas for some first videos I could create for you guys. I think they could help people get to know the shop and the people behind it. I’d love to hear whether either feels useful to you, or if there’s something else you’d rather focus on.

01 / A store introduction

A feel for walking in.

One idea is a short introduction to the shop, showing the space, a few of your products, and the natural interactions between your team and customers.

It could give someone who hasn’t visited a feel for what you offer and the welcome they can expect.

02 / Your story

The story behind it.

Another idea is a short documentary built around a relaxed conversation with you: who you are, why you opened the stores, and what you enjoy about helping people get outdoors. I could pair that with everyday moments in the shop.

It could let customers get to know you a little and see what makes the shop personal.

03 / A guided trip or lesson

A feel for the experience.

I could follow one of your guided fishing trips or lessons, capturing the time outdoors, the advice your guides share, and the small moments of someone learning or enjoying the water.

It could help people get a sense of what an outing on one of your guides could feel like.

These are just starting ideas. If one interests you, we can shape it around your priorities, budget, and schedule.

A larger idea / For later

From the shop.
Into the outdoors.

If you’d like to build on the first project, I could create a cinematic lifestyle film: people choose gear in the shop, then matching movements take us straight outside to see it in use.

I’m connected with people who enjoy a range of outdoor activities, and I could draw on those connections to find people who genuinely take part in the activities featured. That would help the film feel natural and grounded in real outdoor experiences, with people and activities chosen to fit your shop and the story.

INSIDE THE STORE

A jacket slides off the rack.

OUT IN THE WORLD

The same person pulls it on at a windy overlook.

Sound idea: the slide of the hanger carries into the rustle of fabric and wind.

I could also capture lifestyle and product photographs alongside the film, with optional shorter social edits. Products and outdoor activities would guide the story.

Inspiration / For the video ideas

A few ways to picture it.

These references help explain the ideas I’d like to explore for your shop. They’re starting points for an original film.

A guided outing, from start to finish.

A documentary-style shoot following a guided fishing trip—from gearing up to catching fish, and everything in between. I could capture the preparations, introduce the people guiding the trip, and follow the outing on the water, including the advice and tips shared along the way. It could give someone a feel for the experience before they book.

I work full time Monday–Thursday, so Fridays are my main availability for filming. I’m also available on weekday evenings, depending on the shoot and location. We can find a time that works for the store and everyone involved.
